Stroke pharmacogenomics and genetics group,
Institut de Recerca de l’Hospital de la Santa Creu i Sant Pau
The Stroke pharmacogenomics and genetics research group (STROKEMICS) is a research group located at the Sant Pau Institute of Research (IIB) and Sant Pau Hospital. The aims of the group is understand the biological mechanisms of stroke and other neurological diseases. We use Wide Omics techniques such as genetics (GWAS), epigenetics (EWAS), proteomics (PWAS) and transcriptomics (TWAS) to study stroke risk and stroke outcome in order to find potential new treatments that could be used in the clinical practise.

Paul Nyquist, M.D., M.P.H.
Co-Director, Jonhs Hopkins Bayview Care Unit,
professor of Neurology
Dr Nyquist works in the Neurocritical unit and is a member of the Neurocritical care division as well as the cerebrovascular division at Johns Hopkins University Hospital. He is a clinician researcher and is part of an International community of Stroke, Neurocritical Care and Intensive Care physicians.
Shraddha Mainali MD,
Ohio State University
Dr Mainali is an Assistant Professor of Neurology at the Ohio State University. Her clinical sub-specialization includes Stroke and Neurocritical care. Although Dr Mainali is actively involved in multiple clinical trials related to stroke and traumatic brain injury, her translational research is primarily related to ischemic stroke. Dr Mainali is particularly interested in the study of large vessel occlusion strokes with special focus on the molecular mechanisms of cerebral collateral circulation.
